Term
Paper I: International Crime (150 points)
Assignment Directions: For this assignment, your goal is to explore
another country in terms of crime, the criminal justice system, and aspects of
criminology such as crime trends and statistics, offender and victim
demographics, theories of crime, social and/or biopsychological correlates of
crime, and policies related to these areas.
Your exploration is not limited to these areas, but this would be a good
starting point in terms of describing your country in the report. You are to pick one country other than the
United States of America. From there,
you are to give me a report about crime, criminology, and the criminal justice
system in the country you chose. Just
like I am teaching you about crime, criminology and the criminal justice system
in the USA for this course, I want you to teach me something about these
subjects, but for another country in the world.
Format/Style
The final report should
be a 5-page paper (cover and reference pages do not contribute to these
required pages of text) detailing the topic of crime in this particular
country. You are required to have at
least three (3) sources for the paper and will be required to turn in an
outline and sources before you turn in your final paper. As for reference styles/formats, it does not
matter which style you use, as long as you denote what style you are using and
are consistent with the format. The
overall format for the assignment is to be typed, double-spaced, 12 point Times
New Roman font with 1” margins. The
entire assignment will count as a maximum of 150 points on your Term Paper
grade.
